MS Dhoni concluded his last match of IPL 2024 in Bengaluru last week

On May 18, Chennai Super Kings’ bid to defend their title in IPL 2024 came to an end. The reigning champions faced defeat in a crucial match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. CSK needed to achieve a minimum of 201 runs to secure qualification, chasing a target of 219.

However, they managed to score 191/7 in 20 overs, falling short of a playoff spot by just 10 runs. MS Dhoni gave his all to lead the Chennai Super Kings, scoring 25 runs off 13 balls. He notably hit a massive 110-meter six but was caught by Swapnil Singh off Yash Dayal’s delivery shortly after.

Dhoni has since returned to his hometown in Ranchi from Bengaluru. Both CSK fans and officials are optimistic about his potential return to the IPL next year. It remains to be seen whether the CSK wicketkeeper will extend his remarkable career or opt to retire.
