[WATCH]- PBKS’ Historic Win Over KKR Sparks Joyful Reaction From Preity Zinta In IPL 2025 Nail-Biter

Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta was visibly overjoyed after her team pulled off a stunning victory against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their IPL 2025 clash at Mullanpur on Tuesday. A video capturing her jubilant reaction quickly made rounds on social media, as the Bollywood star celebrated PBKS’ record-breaking win.

Earlier, Preity Zinta appeared subdued during the first innings when PBKS were bundled out for just 111 runs in 15.3 overs after KKR captain Shreyas Iyer chose to bowl. Only five PBKS players reached double digits, with Prabhsimran Singh scoring the highest with 30. Harshit Rana led the bowling attack for KKR, finishing with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 25 runs in his 3 overs.

You can watch the moment here:

Punjab Kings’ pace duo, Marco Jansen and Xavier Bartlett, made early inroads by dismissing KKR’s openers with the new ball. Despite the early setbacks, the defending champions looked in control until Ajinkya Rahane’s departure in the eighth over triggered a dramatic collapse. The innings eventually ended with Andre Russell’s dismissal.

KKR were bowled out for just 95 in 15.1 overs, as Punjab Kings set a new IPL record for defending the lowest total in the tournament’s history. Yuzvendra Chahal was named Player of the Match for his impressive spell of 4 for 28 in 4 overs.

“This win is hard to believe”- PBKS Skipper

Following PBKS’s stunning turnaround after their previous eight-wicket defeat to SunRisers Hyderabad, Shreyas Iyer admitted he was at a loss for words. Despite the outcome, he believed KKR had posted a competitive score at the halfway stage. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Iyer said:

“It’s had to express in words, I saw the ball was turning a bit, asked Yuzi to control his breathing as much as possible, we needed to be attacking, I’m not able to talk, it’s tough to digest this victory … When I went out to bat i faced two balls, one stayed low, the other carried, there was variable bounce in the wicket … we got to a decent total, considering we won by 16 runs … the bounce wasn’t consistent and the pace was variable.”
