Team India pacer Pooja Vastrakar made an impact straightaway in the one-off test match against Australia on Thursday, December 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. She took the big scalp of Ellyse Perry, sending her back to the pavilion cheaply to push Australia on the back foot early in the test.
The visitors lost and got off to a disastrous start as Phoebe Litchfield was run out for a diamond duck. Soon, Ellyse Perry was also sent back to the hut by Pooja Vastrakar with a brilliant delivery. In the second over, Pooja Vastrakar bowled a good length delivery, which nipped back in.
The ball went through the bat-pad gate of Ellyse Perry to rattle the stumps. The Australian batter had to walk back disappointed with just four runs. Australia lost two wickets for just seven runs on the board in the second over.
