Team India pacer Pooja Vastrakar played an instrumental role in India’s win against England in the solitary Test on Saturday, December 16 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Her double strike in the last innings helped India to push England on the back foot in the game. They won the Test match by 347 runs.

After setting England a target of 478 runs, India struck early with Renuka Singh dismissing Tammy Beaumont. Further, Pooja Vastrakar’s double strike put India massively ahead in the game. It took place in the tenth over of the innings, when Pooja Vastrakar bowled a back-of-length delivery to Sophia Dunkley. The England batter tried to cut it hard, but the ball went straight to the gully fielder.

On the next delivery, Pooja Vastrakar sent Nat Sciver-Brunt for a golden duck. She bowled a slight length delivery outside the off-stump. Nat Sciver-Brunt got forward to defend the delivery, but the ball went straight through her defence to rattle the stumps. Pooja Vastrakar was pumped up with the double strike in the over.
