Former Indian cricket team coach Rahul Dravid has made a significant comeback to the Indian Premier League (IPL), this time as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, the former IPL champions.

As part of his new role, Dravid will be participating in the upcoming player auction, where his experience and strategic insights are expected to benefit the franchise. This return to the IPL marks an exciting phase for Dravid, who has previously contributed extensively to the growth of young Indian cricket talent.

Inspiring Moments at the Girls Cup

Ahead of the IPL season, Dravid took part in the “Girls Cup” organized by Rajasthan Royals, a tournament aimed at promoting women’s cricket. Dravid delighted fans by returning to the crease and showcasing his batting skills. During his time at the crease, he was bowled out by a young girl—a moment that left him visibly impressed and applauding the young player’s talent.

The video capturing Dravid’s reaction to the delivery quickly went viral on social media, showing the admiration he has for emerging cricketers. One young bowler proudly shared the clip, stating, “Hey maa and paa, I just won the Girls Cup, bowled to Rahul Dravid, and he took a moment to clap for me too!”

Retention Strategy Led by Sanju Samson

As Rajasthan Royals prepares for the upcoming IPL season, Dravid revealed the franchise’s retention strategy, which involved close collaboration with team captain Sanju Samson. The Royals retained six core players: Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, and Sandeep Sharma. Dravid emphasized the franchise’s confidence in these players, stating that building around a trusted core will be key to their future success.

Highlighting Samson’s role, Dravid expressed that retaining the wicketkeeper-batsman as the captain was a straightforward choice, given his leadership experience and involvement in strategic decisions.
