Rahul Dravid, fondly known as ‘The Wall,’ is not just a cricketing legend with a stellar record of 164 Tests and 344 ODIs but also an influential figure in the realm of coaching for the Indian men’s cricket team since November 2021. Dravid’s meticulous approach to the game has not only made him a formidable player but also a commendable mentor. His astute guidance has significantly contributed to the team’s achievements, reflecting his multifaceted talents in the world of cricket.
Interestingly, the cricketing legacy seems to be continuing in the Dravid family, with Rahul’s son, Samit Dravid, making waves in the U19 Cooch Behar Trophy. Representing Karnataka, Samit’s recent performance in the tournament’s final against Mumbai caught the attention of many enthusiasts. Despite his 12 overs yielding 49 runs without a wicket, Samit’s journey in the spotlight began earlier when he showcased a remarkable 98-run inning against Jammu and Kashmir in a Cooch Behar Trophy match.
On another note, the absence of wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan from the T20I series against Afghanistan sparked discussions among fans and analysts. In response, Coach Dravid shed light on Kishan’s situation, hinting at his anticipated return to action during the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Meanwhile, Kishan himself took to social media, sharing glimpses of his dedicated training regimen, emphasizing his commitment to regain form.

Rahul Dravid said: “He asked for the rest. I do not think he has made himself available for selection yet. When he is available, he will play domestic cricket and officially make himself available for selection.”
In recent cricketing developments, Team India marked a triumphant start against Afghanistan in the T20I series, clinching victory by six wickets. As the series unfolds with the subsequent matches, the anticipation builds for the forthcoming five-match Test series against England, set to commence on January 25th.
