When the pitch there is absolutely no one better than Ravichandran Ashwin in the world. The legendary Indian off-spinner showing his class once again on a turning day 2 pitch at Chennai against England. Ashwin is currently all over England and is on his way to picking yet another five-wicket haul in Tests at home. England was hoping that their star all-rounder Ben Stokes comes good with the bat and dominates the main weapon of India Ravichandran Ashwin in the second session.

Stokes did hit some boundaries against Ashwin but the Indian spinner soon found the perfect length to bowl at him on a turning pitch. Ashwin generously flighted the delivery which pitched on leg stump and encouraged Stokes to come forward and play a drive. The left-handed batsman fell in the trap and looked to execute a drive against the spin when the ball was turning a mile.

The ball exploded after pitching and Stokes was nowhere near the pitch of the delivery. Ashwin’s delivery spun and Stokes was comprehensively clean bowled much to the delight of Indian players and the Chennai crowd. The home crowd erupted as local boy Ashwin picked the massive wicket of dangerman Stokes. He scored 18 runs as Ashwin picked his third wicket of the innings.

Meanwhile, Stokes was extremely upset with himself after he was castled when he was looking assured at the crease. Team India is currently right on top of England are 82 for 5 with Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes trying to consolidate the innings for their side. Earlier in the day, India was all out for 329 runs after England quickly picked the last 4 wickets early on day 2.

Rishabh Pant once again impressed with the bat as he made yet another counter-attacking half-century. Eventually, the Indian wicket-keeper batsman remained unbeaten on 57 runs and continued his prolific batting form in Test cricket this year.
