Team India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja emerged from his quiet spell, showcasing impressive spin to significantly impact the match. New Zealand wicketkeeper Tom Blundell faced a remarkable delivery and was bowled for a duck during the third Test at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 1.
In the second session, the Indian side had to be patient as Will Young and Daryl Mitchell resisted their spin attack, compounded by the challenging heat. India eventually made a breakthrough when Jadeja had Young caught at slip for 71.
To capitalize on this momentum, India needed to penetrate New Zealand’s lower order quickly, and Jadeja responded by striking again in the same over. On the penultimate ball of the 45th over, he delivered a ball that spun sharply from the leg-stump line to the top of the off-stump.
Blundell was baffled as he attempted to defend the delivery from the back foot. The spinning ball missed his bat by a wide margin and crashed into the stumps. You can watch the video here:

From a solid position of 159-3, New Zealand rapidly tumbled to 159-5, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja’s two quick wickets. This dismissal marks the third occasion on this tour that Tom Blundell has been out for single-digit scores.
In the first and second Tests, he managed only 5 and 8 runs, respectively. However, he did contribute a respectable 41 runs in the second innings of the second Test held in Pune.
Ravindra Jadeja Has Been Bowling Relentlessly Since Lunch on Day 1
The left-arm spinner wrapped up the first session and continued his spell after the break. Since then, he has consistently bowled from the same end, keeping the batters under pressure.
This is arguably the most threatening Jadeja has been in the series so far, following relatively quiet performances in Bengaluru and Pune, where he took six wickets in total.
