Ravindra Jadeja delivered a superb ball to dismiss Glenn Phillips on Day 1 of the ongoing third Test between India and New Zealand at Wankhede in Mumbai on November 1. Consequently, Phillips scored 17 runs off 28 balls, putting the visitors in a challenging position at 187/6.

The dismissal occurred in the 53rd over of New Zealand’s first innings. Jadeja bowled a good-length delivery on the middle stump that pitched and skidded quickly. Phillips leaned in to defend, but the ball slipped through the small gap between his pad and bat, hitting the stumps.

Ravindra Jadeja’s impressive bowling performance enabled India to respond against New Zealand after an 87-run partnership between Will Young (71 off 138) and Daryl Mitchell. Jadeja took the wickets of Young and Tom Blundell in the same over, followed by Glenn Phillips.

As of this writing, New Zealand was 192/6 at the tea break, with Mitchell (53 off 96) and Ish Sodhi (1 off 7) at the wicket.
