India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been enjoying his time off in his hometown of Jamnagar after playing a key role in India’s 2-0 victory over Bangladesh in the recent home Test series. He returned home for a short break before the upcoming series against New Zealand.

In the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai, Jadeja scored a vital 86 runs and followed it up with impressive bowling figures of 2/19 and 3/58 in the two innings. He also shared some videos of himself riding one of his horses on his farm in Jamnagar.

Members of the Test squad were not included in the T20I lineup, as Suryakumar Yadav is leading the side for the three-match white-ball series. The red-ball players will next face New Zealand, who are set to tour India for three Tests starting October 16 in Bengaluru.

Ravindra Jadeja made a strong impression with his explosive performance in Chepauk

India got off to a rough start in the first innings of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli all dismissed within the first 10 overs, scoring 6, 0, and 6, respectively.

After Yashasvi Jaiswal’s half-century and Rishabh Pant’s 39 (52) helped stabilize India’s innings, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took over and turned the game around.

While the top and middle-order batters struggled, the two spin-bowling all-rounders formed a 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Ashwin scored a century with 113 (133), while Jadeja contributed a vital 86 (124), enabling India to post 376 runs. Jadeja also made an impact with the ball, helping to dismiss Bangladesh for 149 in their first innings.

Ashwin and Jadeja delivered outstanding performances in the second innings, with Ashwin taking a match-winning six-wicket haul (6/88) and Jadeja claiming three wickets. Bangladesh was all out for 234 while chasing a target of 515 runs, resulting in a 280-run victory for India.
