[WATCH]: Rishabh Pant Bowls In The Nets In Preparation For The IND vs BAN 2024 Second Test

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant removed his gloves to practice spin bowling during the net session at Green Park in Kanpur, preparing for the second Test against Bangladesh. The series finale is set to start on Friday, September 27, with India leading 1-0.

In a video shared by the BCCI ahead of the match, Pant is shown bowling to Shubman Gill. During the session, KL Rahul brought up Pant’s recent bowling performance in the Delhi Premier League (DPL). You can watch the video here:

Pant started by bowling seam, but quickly transitioned to leg spin and was immediately pleased with the outcome.

“Kya beat karaaya yaar (I managed to beat him so well),” Pant said.

“Tagdi practice karwayi thhi tune, Rishabh (That was an intense practice session because of you, Rishabh),” Gill said in reply.

India worked intensely in the nets to maintain their rhythm and adjust to the new black soil conditions after competing on a red-soil pitch in Chennai for the series opener. The wicketkeeper-batter smoothly returned to Test cricket after a two-year hiatus, scoring his sixth century during the second innings of the match in Chepauk.

Rishabh Pant recently bowled in the Delhi Premier League and has taken one wicket in first-class cricket

Leading the Purani Dilli 6 in the inaugural Delhi Premier League (DPL), Pant bowled in the opening match against the South Delhi Superstarz. This continued the trend of batters taking turns to bowl under new head coach Gautam Gambhir.

With the opposition needing just one run to win in the last over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the wicketkeeper stepped in to bowl. He delivered a low full toss that the batter hit straight to conclude the match. Pant has also bowled a few overs in first-class cricket, giving away nine runs and taking one wicket.
