Team India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant lightened the mood on Day 5 of the ongoing Leeds Test by jokingly asking pacer Mohammed Siraj if he could deliver three balls in just a minute. This amusing exchange took place during the final over before the lunch break, with Siraj bowling.

From behind the stumps, Pant urged him to pick up the pace so that Jasprit Bumrah could squeeze in one more over before the session ended.

“1 minute mai 3 ball daal sakta hain kya? Chalo chalo chalo. Boom bhai ka ek ek aur over. Mahaul banayenge (Can you bowl three balls in one minute? Come on come on come on. One more over from Boom. Let’s set the atmosphere),” Pant could be heard saying.

Pant Slams Centuries In Both Innings Of 1st Test

Rishabh Pant has been constantly vocal behind the stumps throughout this Test, adding his usual energy in the field. At the same time, his contribution with the bat has been equally impressive. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter struck centuries in both innings of the ongoing match, underlining his batting prowess.

In India’s first innings, Pant played a brilliant knock of 134 off 178 deliveries, which included 12 fours and six sixes, scoring at a strike rate of 75.28. He followed it up with another outstanding century in the second innings, scoring 118 off 140 balls, laced with 15 boundaries and three sixes.

His twin centuries helped him break multiple records. He became the highest run-scoring visiting wicketkeeper in England, with 808 runs from 18 innings. His 252-run match tally is also the highest ever by an Indian wicketkeeper in a Test match.

Additionally, Pant became the first Indian to register centuries in both innings of a Test played in England, and only the second wicketkeeper-batter overall to do so.
