[WATCH] Rohit Sharma Gets Hit By Rishabh Pant’s Dropped Catch Of McSweeney In BGT 2024-25 2nd Test

Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, was hit on his arm after wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant missed a catch, granting Australian opener Nathan McSweeney a second chance. India and Australia are facing off in a day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval.

On the third ball of the seventh over, Jasprit Bumrah delivered a ball targeting the off-stump, which Nathan McSweeney edged. The ball flew between wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and first slip Rohit Sharma. Pant attempted to dive to his right to make the catch but couldn’t secure it, allowing the ball to slip past Rohit at first slip.

McSweeney made the most of the opportunity, picking up two runs off the missed catch. The camera then focused on Rohit, who appeared to be in discomfort on the ground, clutching his forearm. However, he quickly recovered from the injury scare and got back on his feet, looking ready to continue with the play.

India won the toss and chose to bat first. The new opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul didn’t last long, with Jaiswal being dismissed on the first ball of the match. Rahul (37 off 64) and Shubman Gill (31 off 51) added 69 runs before Rahul fell to Mitchell Starc.

Wickets continued to fall regularly, with Rohit Sharma (3 off 23) and Virat Kohli (7 off 8) dismissed cheaply. Nitish Kumar Reddy (42 off 54) showed resistance but was eventually out, and India was bowled out for 180.

Australia are currently batting at 36/1 after 15 overs, trailing by 143 runs. They are 0-1 down in the five-match Test series.
