Indian Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma was seen putting in effort during practice as he prepares for the first Test against Bangladesh. India is set to face the Bangla Tigers in a two-match Test series, starting with the first Test on September 19 in Chennai, followed by the second on September 27 in Kanpur.
However, earlier this year, India hosted England in a Test series which saw them winning 4-1 where Rohit amassed over 400 runs from 5 Tests. In preparation for taking on Bangladesh, the Indian opener has been seen practising hard in the nets.

โWe want to win here. We want to win this Test matchโ – Rohit Sharma
Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma has stressed that they do not see these two matches against Bangladesh as preparations for bigger things to come.
Rohit pointed out that during a press conference convened just before the first Test in Chennai every game is vital and the World Test Championships points table is still open. Rohit Sharma said:
“Look, at the end of the day, you are playing for your country. So there is no dress rehearsal kind of stuff happening here. Every game that we play is important, and every game becomes important because of what is at stake.”
“[In the] World Test Championship, still the table is quite wide open, and you want to win every game. So it doesn’t matter where we play in two months’ time. We want to win here. We want to win this Test match,” he added.
After hosting Bangladesh for some time, India will be playing New Zealand in three tests starting from October 16. In addition to this, they will travel to Australia for the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy whose first test commences on November 22 in Perth.
