Mumbai Indians (MI) veteran Rohit Sharma recently signed an autograph for a young fan sporting an MS Dhoni Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey at Chepauk Stadium ahead of IPL 2025. Sharma is currently in Chennai with the MI squad, gearing up for their match against the home team on Sunday, March 23.
The Mumbai franchise posted a video on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, showcasing Rohit Sharma’s heartfelt gesture. The moment took place after a practice session at Chepauk Stadium, where the Indian captain was seen signing autographs for several children, including a young MS Dhoni fan.
The young fan received Rohit’s autograph on a No. 7 CSK jersey while wearing it. MI captioned the post:

“Wait and Watch”- Hardik on Rohit’s Opening Partner
At MI’s pre-season press conference, Hardik Pandya kept Rohit Sharma‘s opening partner a mystery, opting to reveal it only in their first IPL 2025 match. With Ishan Kishan released, Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks are potential options. When asked, Hardik responded:
“I think we’ll leave that for the game. I don’t want to say here who is playing or not playing. We’ll take that call when the time comes. Batting order is something which I have never taken too much into my cricketing career.”
Explaining his approach to various batting positions, Pandya added:
“I have always been a player who plays situations. Specific numbers like batting at No.4, 5 or 6 has gone from my cricketing journey, I only focus on where my team needs me. Which situation or the entry point I go into, that is more important.”
Hardik Pandya will be unavailable for MI’s IPL 2025 opener against CSK this weekend due to a one-match ban for last season’s slow-over rate. In his absence, Suryakumar Yadav will captain Mumbai Indians in their first game.
