Indian opening batters Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sai Sudharsan were recently spotted enjoying a game of pickleball. The two rising stars will be playing in the upcoming Irani Cup 2024. Gaikwad has been named captain of the Rest of India (ROI) team, which will face off against Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai for the Irani Cup.

Before the red-ball match, Gaikwad and Sudharsan relaxed with some pickleball. On Sunday, September 29, Gaikwad shared a story on his Instagram, offering fans a glimpse of their game. You can check out the clip below:

Pickleball’s popularity has surged in India recently. This racquet sport blends aspects of tennis, table tennis, and badminton.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Team C finished as the runners-up in the Duleep Trophy 2024

Gaikwad was last active during the Duleep Trophy 2024, where he captained Team C. They ended as runners-up, losing to Team A by 132 runs in the final at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on September 19.

Gaikwad scored 17 and 44 in the final match. With a total of 232 runs in six innings, he was the top scorer for Team C in the tournament. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain will now lead the Rest of India (ROI) in the Irani Cup 2024 against Mumbai.

The match is set to take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow starting Tuesday, October 1. Here are the two squads for the Irani Cup 2024:
