Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and former India coach and World Cup-winning squad member Ravi Shastri took their hand at baseball at T20 World Cup 2024 fan parks in New York on Sunday, ahead of the thrilling match between India and Pakistan.

Sachin traveled to New York on Saturday to see the much-awaited match between India and Pakistan, the arch-rivals, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday at Nassau County International Stadium. India opened their account with a resounding win over Ireland, while Pakistan lost to the USA minnows and became the second test-playing country to be defeated by the team captained by Monank Patel.

In a video that the International Cricket Council (ICC) sent to their Instagram account, Sachin is seen striking while holding a black baseball bat, while Shastri is ready to deliver balls to him with a ball and glove in one hand. In addition, Shastri offered his animated commentary for this brief but humorous competition.

Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary cricketer, spoke about the IndiaPakistan rivalry ahead of the tantalizing encounter between the two sides, recalling his fights with the arch-rivals. The batting icon also wished both sides success in the game but did not shy away from expressing his support for India.

“India vs. Pakistan has always been a big match, exhilarating. My first World Cup experience against Pakistan was way back in 1992 in Australia and from there, all of the number of matches that we’ve played against each other, they’ve all been super exciting,” said Tendulkar in a video released by the ICC.

“I know both teams are well prepared to go out and give their best. When it comes to sharing, the best of luck that I have is a little more towards India,’ Sachin Tendulkar added.

There have been 12 T20I matches between India and Pakistan. With one game finishing in a tie, the Men in Blue lead their neighbors 8-3. India has won five of the seven World Cup matches; Pakistan has won one and the other has resulted in a tie, which India eventually prevailed in a bowl out.
