[WATCH]- Sanju Samson Out For A Duck In The 2024 SA vs IND 2nd T20I After Two Consecutive Centuries

Sanju Samson, who made history with consecutive T20I centuries, was dismissed for a three-ball duck in India‘s second T20I against South Africa on November 10. Samson had earlier scored a match-winning 107 in the first T20I, giving India a 1-0 lead.

Marco Jansen removed Samson on the third ball of the game, sending the Indian opener back to the dugout without scoring. Samson misjudged the delivery as Jansen maintained his length and knocked over the leg stump.

Samson entered the game after back-to-back T20I centuries. Following his 111-run performance against Bangladesh in October during the third T20I of the home series, the Rajasthan Royals captain scored 107 runs against South Africa in Durban.

India’s top order collapses as South Africa takes three wickets during the powerplay

India’s innings got off to a shaky start as the top-order collapsed during the powerplay. After winning the toss, South African captain Aiden Markram chose to field first. Following Samson’s dismissal on the third ball of the opening over, Suryakumar Yadav joined Abhishek Sharma at the crease.

Sharma hit a boundary off the first ball he faced in the second over, but was soon dismissed by Gerald Coetzee on the fifth delivery. Attempting a pull shot to a short delivery from Coetzee, Sharma got a top edge, and Marco Jansen took a safe catch at short fine leg.

Jansen’s dismissal of Samson proved to be a pivotal moment, underscoring South Africa’s dominance in the match. With the target set, the Proteas were in a strong position to level the series at the halfway mark.

Andile Simelane then sent Suryakumar Yadav back for just four runs off nine balls. India lost three wickets in the first four overs as South Africa applied early pressure on the visitors.
