Sanju Samson Emerges as CSK’s Leading Run-Scorer in IPL 2026

Sanju Samson was last seen in action during IPL 2026, which marked his debut season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after joining the franchise from Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the tournament. The wicketkeeper-batter endured a difficult start, registering three single-digit scores in his opening games.

However, he bounced back in style with an unbeaten 115 off 56 deliveries against Delhi Capitals (DC). Samson also produced another outstanding century later in the season, remaining not out on 101 off 54 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI). He ended the campaign with 477 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 165.62, finishing as CSK’s leading run-scorer.

Despite Samson’s strong individual performances, CSK struggled collectively and ended the season in eighth place, managing six wins from 14 league-stage matches. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) successfully defended their title by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the final.
