[WATCH]- Scott Boland Claims 10 Wickets As India Fall For 157 On Day 3 Of BGT 5th Test

Australian pacer Scott Boland achieved his maiden 10-wicket haul in Tests by dismissing Jasprit Bumrah on Day 3 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Test (BGT) in Sydney. Boland ended India’s second innings at 157 with figures of 6-45, having taken four wickets in the first innings.

Boland has been a relentless challenge for India throughout the entire series. Following long, testing spells from Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, the visitors faced even greater pressure and difficulty from the experienced Australian seamer.

With eight wickets already by the close of Day 2, Boland clinically dismissed Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah in just three deliveries, wrapping up India’s second innings at a total of 157 runs.

Boland secured his five-wicket haul in the second innings by getting Siraj to edge a catch to Usman Khawaja in the slips. He then bowled Bumrah, attempting a big swing for runs, to wrap up the innings. You can watch the video here:

The seasoned pacer exploited significant movement off the pitch, leaving batters struggling. His precision in hitting the right areas, combined with the surface’s assistance, created a deadly bowling combination.

Boland concludes the series with 21 wickets in only three matches

Starting the series on the bench, Boland stepped in during the pink-ball Test in Adelaide after Josh Hazlewood’s injury. Although he missed the drawn Test at The Gabba, he returned to the XI after Hazlewood was ruled out for the series.

Boland’s performance in the subsequent matches was nothing short of impressive, showcasing his adaptability and determination. He dismissed Kohli four times and proved a constant headache for India, especially in Sydney.

He capitalized on the green pitch, delivering nearly unplayable spells throughout the match. His ability to consistently extract movement from the pitch made him a critical asset for Australia.
