[WATCH]- Shakib Al Hasan Loses His Temper And Throws The Ball At Mohammad Rizwan During The 2024 PAK vs BAN Test

On the 25th of August in Rawalpindi during the first Test match against Pakistan, Shakib Al Hasan, an all-rounder from Bangladesh, had one of his regular outbursts. While the bowler was preparing to bowl, 37-year-old Shakib found that Pakistani batsman Mohammad Rizwan was not ready yet and kept looking out into the field.

This did not stop Shakib though; he completed his delivery and hurled it angrily towards wicketkeeper Litton Das. The incident visibly annoyed Umpire Kettleborough who thereafter reprimanded Shakib for throwing a ball considered dead.

A video captures this moment where Shakib loses control throwing the ball in direction of Rizwan while umpires gaze at him disapprovingly:

For context, Shakib hit Rizwan on his pads in the previous delivery and wanted a DRS review for LBW but the umpire turned it down. However, when skipper Najmul Shanto signalled the ‘T’ with time running out, the umpire said it was too late. Following the umpire’s intervention, Shakib seemed to apologize to Rizwan before the next ball.

In recent days, the veteran all-rounder has been surrounded by controversies. During the recent political unrest period and violence in Bangladesh, Shakib was named among those accused of an alleged murder.

With seven of the ten wickets falling under their spell, Mehidy Hasan operated hand-in-hand with Shakib Al Hasan getting most of Pakistan’s batsmen for nothing during that day. There are only 30 runs remaining for banter when it comes to considering ‘who might win?’, before this between two Asian neighbors match is considered winners by virtue of having lost eleven others.

By winning this contest, Bangladesh will also lead the two-match series with 1-0 since the second test will be played at the same venue starting from August 30.
