Former Indian cricketer and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 ambassador, Shikhar Dhawan, had an enjoyable and lively interaction with Team India players ahead of their opening match against Bangladesh on Thursday, February 20. Before the game, Dhawan and Virat Kohli exchanged a hug and broke into a bhangra dance.

Shikhar Dhawan bid farewell to international cricket in August 2024. The left-hander remains India’s leading run-scorer in Champions Trophy history, having played in two editions (2013 and 2017).
Across 10 matches, he amassed 701 runs at an impressive average of 77.88, registering three half-centuries and three centuries, with a top score of 125.
Towhid Hridoy’s Century Guides Bangladesh to a Competitive Total Against India
Bangladesh chose to bat first after winning the toss but suffered an early collapse, losing three wickets for just 26 runs. Axar Patel was introduced in the ninth over and struck immediately, dismissing Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim on consecutive deliveries.
However, he missed out on a hat-trick as Rohit Sharma dropped a straightforward catch of Jaker Ali at first slip. Towhid Hridoy and Jaker then stabilized the innings, building a crucial 154-run partnership off 206 balls for the sixth wicket before Jaker fell for 68.
Hridoy delivered a stellar knock, scoring 100 off 118 balls. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami starred with the ball, claiming five wickets as Bangladesh were bowled out for 228 in 49.4 overs. In reply, India started strongly, reaching 41/0 after seven overs, with Rohit Sharma (28) and Shubman Gill (13) at the crease.
