During the ongoing IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium, CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube had a remarkable performance against Romario Shepherd. Dube, a left-handed batsman, scored 22 runs off Shepherd’s bowling, which included two fours and two sixes. This impressive display took place on Sunday, April 14, during the 14th over of the match.
Dube began the over with a powerful shot over square leg after CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad rotated the strike to him. He followed it up with another six over long-on. Dube concluded the over with two boundaries in the final three deliveries, leaving Shepherd with figures of 2-0-33-0. After Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya chose to field first, the Super Kings lost Ajinkya Rahane for 5 runs and Rachin Ravindra for 21.
However, CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad managed to score a half-century, making 69 runs off 40 balls, before getting dismissed by his counterpart. Gaikwad’s wicket concluded the 90-run partnership between him and Dube.

Shivam Dube finishes with an unbeaten 66 runs while MS Dhoni’s explosive batting helps CSK reach a total of 206
At the Wankhede Stadium, the Super Kings posted an imposing total of 206 runs in 20 overs, with MS Dhoni showcasing his prowess and entertaining the crowd. Despite facing only four deliveries, the 42-year-old smashed 20 runs, including three consecutive sixes off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.
The 20th over began with a wide, followed by Daryl Mitchell hitting a boundary. Although Pandya managed to dismiss Mitchell, Dhoni launched a fierce assault on the 30-year-old. As a result, the defending champions accumulated 57 runs in the final five overs.
Despite the challenging target, the home team remains optimistic about their chances of chasing it down, especially since the Mumbai Indians captain decided to bowl first due to the dew factor.
Furthermore, in their previous match, Mumbai Indians easily defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), chasing down 196 runs in just 15.3 overs. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav played crucial roles with the bat in that victory.
