[WATCH] Shreyas Iyer Takes An Easy Catch As Yash Thakur Removes Sikandar Raza

India pacer Yash Thakur produced a brilliant return catch to dismiss Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza for a golden duck in the third T20I in Harare. After India posted 192/5, Thakur struck on the penultimate ball of the fourth over with a sharp piece of fielding off his own bowling.

Bowling a brisk 143 km/h short-of-a-length delivery, Thakur hurried Raza into an attempted flick towards the leg side. The Zimbabwe skipper could only manage a leading edge, and the ball flew to the left of the bowler.

Reacting swiftly, Thakur stuck out his left hand and completed a superb one-handed catch in his follow-through, leaving Raza visibly disappointed as he walked back without scoring. Watch the video here:

It was a dream over for Yash Thakur, who had removed Dion Myers on the previous delivery before dismissing Sikandar Raza. Thakur cleverly rolled his fingers over the ball as Myers backed away to create room, deceiving him with the change of pace. The batter mistimed his shot and chipped a simple catch to Shreyas Iyer.

Ryan Burl, who arrived at the crease for the final ball of the over, spoiled Thakur’s hat-trick chance by opening his account with a boundary. Chasing 193, Zimbabwe slipped to 34/3 in the early stages.

Yash Thakur Enjoys Dream Debut Series for India

Yash Thakur earned his maiden India call-up for the Zimbabwe tour and made his international debut in the second T20I. He impressed straightaway, returning figures of 2/30 in his four-over spell while dismissing Brian Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani.

The pacer has carried that momentum into the third T20I, producing another impressive spell with two wickets, while displaying excellent control and effective variations. Thakur also arrived on the international stage with an impressive domestic T20 record.

Across 75 matches, he has claimed 112 wickets at an average of 18.68 and an economy rate of 8.15, with best figures of 5/16. His tally includes two five-wicket hauls and five four-wicket hauls.
