Kolkata Knight Riders were all over Rajasthan Royals at the Dubai International Stadium, defending a target of 174 runs. With four wickets already down, Shubman Gill grabbed a stunning catch to dismiss Riyan Paran and put the final nail in the coffin.
Pat Cummins, who had a poor start to IPL 2020, made a stunning comeback. He produced top-class fast bowling hitting the right areas before getting Steve Smith out. The pressure kept mounting with Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti also complementing the senior Aussie bowler.
Mavi was the first to strike among the duo removing in-form Sanju Samson and destructive Jos Buttler before Kamlesh Nagarkoti joined the scene. The English opener looked to take the game away from Kolkata but Mavi removed Buttler.
Shubman Gill takes a fine catch
On the other hand, Nagarkoti, who is playing his only second IPL game, removed veteran Robin Uthappa from his first ball. He backed with another in the fourth delivery of the same over to dismiss Riyan Paran to put the final nail in the coffin.
Parag slashed the ball hard and it went flat to his left. But Shubman Gill got across swiftly, tumbling down in time to grab the ball inches above the ground. It was short and wide from Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Riyan Parag back-cut it aerially and had connected well, only to find Shubman Gill in the point region.

Meanwhile, the umpires weren’t sure and went upstairs to be doubly correct, although the soft signal was out. The third umpire doesn’t need many looks to give his confirmation as Rajasthan Royals almost slip away from the game.
