Veteran India pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah‘s swift recovery from injury has been commended by BCCI secretary Jay Shah. The star fast bowler is now deemed fit and ready to participate in the T20I series in Ireland in August.
After undergoing a thorough rehabilitation process at the NCA following his lower back stress fracture surgery, Bumrah is expected to play a couple of warm-up games before a final decision is made on his inclusion in the squad.
Recent reports reveal that Bumrah took part in a practice match at the Alur cricket ground near Bengaluru. In a video circulating on social media, Bumrah can be seen bowling at full intensity to young batters from Mumbai, while other players on the field are fully geared up in white jerseys.
Though not officially confirmed, it is believed that the footage is from a recent match. Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer expressed some uncertainty about Bumrah’s ability to return to his pre-injury form.

Jaffer emphasized the significant role Bumrah plays in India’s bowling attack, especially during the death overs, which was noticeably missing in his absence throughout the year. The question arises whether Bumrah will be able to bowl with the same pace and intensity post-recovery.
Jaffer acknowledges Bumrah’s vital contributions to the team across all formats and believes his fitness will be pivotal to India’s prospects in the upcoming World Cup. Considering Bumrah’s ability to shine in challenging conditions and his history of delivering match-winning performances, Jaffer sees him as an essential and senior player within the squad.
Bumrah’s return to peak form is crucial for India’s aspirations in the forthcoming World Cup. As the T20I series in Ireland approaches, fans eagerly await Bumrah’s return, hoping that he will maintain his status as a key player in India’s bowling arsenal.
His skills and impact on the game have been lauded by cricket enthusiasts, and his fitness remains a top priority for team management. With the upcoming World Cup in mind, India’s focus will be on ensuring Bumrah’s full recovery and successful reintegration into the team.
