Sony Sports network uploaded a YouTube video during the first Test match between England and India at Nottingham. The video featured Legendary cricketers Sunil Gavaskar and Virender Sehwag. In the video, they were having a fun discussion regarding famous dessert called misti doi, a delicacy from Bengal.
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said he loves the dessert Mishti Doi and whenever he visits Kolkata it’s a must-have thing for him. Gavaskar recalled an incident when he was captain of the Indian team and the father of Sourav Ganguly used to come to receive them at the airport. He stated that Ganguly’s father who was secretary of Cricket Association of Bengal used to keep a lot of Mishti Doi in the fridge for him.
“Father of current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly who was secretary of Bengal Cricket Association used to come to the airport to receive us, Also once we reached the hotel he used to keep a lot of Mishti Doi for me in hotels fridge,” said Gavaskar to Sony Sports Network.
However, Gavaskar had a complaint with the current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. He stated:
“I have only one complaint, Although former secretary of Bengal cricket association used to bring a lot of Mishti Doi, but the current president of BCCI doesn’t bring anything.”
“I think India will win 4-0” – Sunil Gavaskar
Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has backed India to emerge victorious against England in the 5 match Test series. He feels India will win by 4-0 or 3-1 depending on the weather conditions in England. Also, he believes that England’s batting unit looks fragile. Gavaskar asserted:
“My prediction is… again this time I am making it contingent to the weather. If the weather in August… I left England about 10 days ago and the weather was absolutely brilliant. It was hot most of the time. I am being told it is raining a little bit. If the hot conditions are there for 22 out of possible 25 days, then I think India will win 4-0.”
“In case you have a situation where the weather is going to be a factor, then I think India will win 3-1, but I think India will still go on to win, because England is now a very depleted side, and their batting, as we saw in the series against New Zealand, is being brittle,” Gavaskar added.
