[WATCH]- Team India Hones Their Fielding Skills Before The First T20I Against Bangladesh

Suryakumar Yadav‘s Team India held a net session focused on enhancing their fielding skills in preparation for the first T20I against Bangladesh at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Friday, October 4. The Men in Blue initially practiced on pop-up goals and targets before working on high catches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the session on X, stating:

“Gearing up in Gwalior with radiant rhythm and full flow. Team India hone their fielding skills ahead of the INDvsBAN T20I series opener.”

In the video, fielding coach T Dilip stated:

“Get your feet where you are throwing. As simple as that. I’m not looking at intensity but rhythm and flow is something we have to achieve today. And once we break into that, we’ll move and take 15 catches.”

“Keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high” –Gautam Gambhir’s advice to Team India players before the T20I series against Bangladesh

Last month, head coach Gautam Gambhir urged Team India players to maintain peak fitness for the T20I series against Bangladesh. He communicated this to the BCCI (via Hindustan Times):

“Some of the guys will not be a part of the 50-overs format will have a longer break, so make sure when you come back for the Bangladesh series…you can take a break. You absolutely deserve it, but more importantly, keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high.”

“You don’t want to come for that series thinking that ‘okay, I can just turn up, probably deliver for the team’. So, make sure that from the fitness point of view, the fitness levels are right up there,” he added.

The first of the three-match T20I series will take place on Sunday, October 6, with the next two matches scheduled for Delhi and Hyderabad.

Suryakumar Yadav and his team aim to build on their strong performance after a 3-0 series win in Sri Lanka in July. This marks Yadav’s first series as full-time captain after succeeding Rohit Sharma, who led India in the 2024 T20 World Cup earlier this year.
