[WATCH]- The Hyderabad Crowd Sings ‘Happy Birthday’ To Their Captain, Pat Cummins, During The SRH vs LSG Game

During the IPL 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins was greeted with birthday wishes from the crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium through a song.

The Australian cricketer celebrated his 31st birthday on Wednesday, and his SRH teammates made it memorable with a special on-field performance. During the first innings, while Cummins was fielding, spectators in the stands joined the DJ in singing their beloved captain’s birthday song. A fan captured this moment and shared the video on X.

It was a fantastic birthday outing for Pat Cummins in the SRH jersey as his team secured a commanding 10-wicket victory against LSG. The bowling unit excelled in the first innings, restricting the visitors to 165 runs in 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered an economical spell of 4 overs, conceding just 12 runs and taking 1 wicket for SRH.

The chase was an absolute onslaught, with Travis Head (89*) and Abhishek Sharma (75*) mercilessly attacking the LSG bowlers, guiding Sunrisers to victory with an unbeaten partnership of 167/0 in just 9.4 overs.

“It was something unbelievable” – SRH skipper Pat Cummins after a convincing 10-wicket victory

During the post-match presentation, SRH captain Pat Cummins shared his thoughts on the victory, stating:

“Maybe Trav and Abhi changed the pitch in the mid innings break (chuckles). Just let them go, two guys who are really positive. I am a bowler and it’s hard to get answers when someone is going like that. Travis has been like this for the last two years. Not super conventional but he has got his methods.”

Cummins added: “I haven’t seen a lot of Abhi before the season. With two fielders out there it’s really difficult for the bowlers. The par scores have gone up a lot. It’s tough to come up with answers with the batters going like this. We love playing here but to win nine down, it was something unbelievable.”

SRH’s next match is against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 16 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
