In the opening Test match between India and New Zealand at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India captain Rohit Sharma was bowled with a fantastic in-swinging delivery from seamer Tim Southee of New Zealand. Tim Southee had a fantastic delivery, pitching the ball precisely such that it jagged back in.

The first Test between New Zealand and India at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium was postponed, and the play only started on the second day. In gloomy conditions, India won the toss and elected to bat first.

Virat Kohli’s promotion to the third rank delighted the Chinnaswamy crowd, but soon after, India lost two more quick wickets in a row, silencing the fans. After only eight deliveries, Kohli was overcome by the Will O’Rourke. Glenn Phillips made a breathtaking diving grab at leg gully after Kohli’s glove was clipped by the short delivery.

When Sarfaraz Khan tried to launch a counterattack, things got worse. Devon Conway produced an incredible one-hander at mid-off after he misplayed a drive off Matt Henry. India was struggling at 10/3 after losing three wickets in rapid succession. As the rain started to fall, the covers were once again pulled over India at 13/3.
