New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bat first. However, their batters could not take advantage of the toss. They were bowled out for 132 runs in the first innings. During the course of the innings, Trent Boult’s hilarious defense left the fans in splits.

In the thirty-sixth over, Matthew Potts bowled a short of a length delivery, which boult backed away to defend. His unusual defensive shot reminded the fans of Australian cricketer Steve Smith. The video went viral on social media, with fans terming it as a tribute to Smith on his birthday.
