[WATCH]- Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes Jofra Archer For Maiden Six In Style

Vaibhav Suryavanshi made an immediate impact on debut by smashing Jofra Archer for a sensational six off the very first delivery he faced from the England pacer in the second T20I of the five-match series at Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Saturday, July 4.

On the opening ball of the third over of India’s innings, Archer drifted one down the leg side, and the left-hander smartly backed away before dropping to one knee and scooping it over fine leg for his first six in international cricket. Watch the video here:

The 15-year-old has already earned a reputation as a prolific six-hitter, having hammered a record 72 sixes for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. In the process, he eclipsed the previous record of 59 sixes set by former West Indies cricket team opener Chris Gayle during the 2012 season.

India’s Openers Change Gears After Measured Start In 2nd T20I

After choosing to bat first, India national cricket team began cautiously, scoring only 10 runs in the opening two overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi injected momentum in the third over by launching Jofra Archer for a six, before Abhishek Sharma capped off the over with a boundary.

The aggression continued in the next over bowled by Josh Tongue, with Suryavanshi adding another six, while Abhishek followed it up with a six and a four as India shifted gears after the slow start. At the time of writing, India were 41/0 after four overs, with Suryavanshi unbeaten on 14 and Abhishek on 21.
