[WATCH]- Viral Video Showcases Virat Kohli Delighting Fans With Punjabi Charm

At the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium practice facility in Dharamsala, a local cricketer approached batting legend Virat Kohli for an autograph. Kohli’s response in Punjabi quickly became the buzz on social media.

Currently in Dharamsala with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, Kohli is gearing up to face the Punjab Kings in their next Indian Premier League match on Thursday.

While at the nets, a young cricketer asks Virat to autograph and write his name, ‘Sai’, alongside it. Possibly mistaking ‘Sai’ for ‘sign’, Virat chuckles and then queries the youngster again in Punjabi, “Naa ki hai tera (what is your name)?” before signing on the notepad.

Virat currently tops the IPL 2024 run-scoring leaderboard with 542 runs in 11 innings. However, RCB have only managed to win four of their 11 matches, placing them at the seventh spot on the table with 8 points. Punjab also has 8 points but is trailing behind RCB on net run-rate.

Both teams still hold an outside chance of making it to the playoffs. However, they not only need to win their remaining three matches but also rely on results in other matches to go their way.

Kohli has been a crucial player for the Royal Challengers this season. Despite a disappointing start to their campaign, with just one win at the halfway mark, RCB has staged a strong comeback, currently enjoying a three-match winning streak.

With four wins in 11 matches, RCB sits at seventh place in the points table with 8 points. Due to his stellar performances this year, Kohli secured a spot in India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup. However, there’s uncertainty regarding his batting position in India’s XI.

While some advocate for Kohli to open alongside Rohit Sharma, citing their successful partnership in the past, others prefer him to retain his position at number three in the batting order.
