The Indian cricket team is currently touring Australia for a five-match Test series, with Australia leading 2–1. The decisive final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is crucial for India to keep their World Test Championship (WTC) final hopes alive.

Concerns over Virat Kohli’s form persist as the star batter has struggled to make an impact in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), faltering under pressure. At the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), despite being sledged and booed by the Australian crowd, Kohli failed to respond with the bat—a rare occurrence for the fiercely competitive player.

With the deciding Test set to take place at the SCG, all eyes are on Kohli. Can the former Indian captain regain his form and lead India to a crucial victory in the series finale? Fans eagerly await to see if he can bounce back and reaffirm his status as one of the world’s best.

BCCI Advised to Prepare Virat Kohli’s ‘Exit Plan’ Amid Growing Retirement Speculation

Rohit Sharma appears to be nearing retirement from Test cricket, with his exit likely following the Australia tour. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s future in the format remains uncertain, as the duo’s performances in Australia have sparked intense debate.

Former India cricketer Atul Wassan has urged the BCCI to prepare an exit strategy for Kohli, given his ongoing struggles with form. At 36, Kohli has been battling to revive his career. Having already stepped away from T20 internationals, his Test career hangs in the balance.

While Wassan believes Kohli’s best might still be ahead, he emphasizes the need for the BCCI to plan for a successor and his eventual departure.

“Virat has got runs, but he also knows what’s happening. They are very sorted mentally. A player always thinks that ‘my best is around the corner’. I’ll do it just now.’ It’s such a long spell; it’s hurting the team, and there is questioning, saying you should be dropped. A lynch mob comes after you,” Wassan told news agency ANI.

“They also know what is going on. I think an exit plan, like a succession policy, must be clear, it’s not fair on the management, the team, and the cricketing structure, we don’t know what’s there in your mind,” he added.
