Team India Players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma danced cheerfully at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium during the 2024 T20 World Cup ceremonies on Thursday, July 4th. The Men in Blue conquered South Africa in the World Cup final on June 29th, obtaining their second championship in T20 cricket

Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, India clinched their inaugural title in 2007, during the first T20 World Cup in South Africa. Rohit Sharma was involved in the triumphant squad as a member and is now captain of this year’s victory.

The BCCI organized a party and parade in Mumbai this evening to respect Team India’s win. Team members connected thousands of enthusiasts in an open bus parade through the streets before arriving at Wankhede Stadium, wherein they were honoured by the BCCI.

At the stadium, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma delighted the crowd by dancing exuberantly. Their enthusiasm prompted a few teammates to join in, and they danced with abandon.

I told him, you also hold the trophy for a while, for two minutes. We should take a picture together because this journey has been very long.”

He further continued:

“Me and him playing together for so many years and just trying out level best to make sure that this happens for India. Captain leader, leader captain, we have just worked for only one thing – that’s Indian cricket. That picture was a dedication to Indian cricket.”
