Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, key members for Team India, confidently presented the trophy in the T20 World Cup victory parade in Mumbai on Thursday, July 4th. A massive crowd of fans collected to have a good time with the new champions, and the duo smiled kindly at the crowd as the Men in Blue moved forward to Wankhede Stadium.

Both Rohit and Kohli played essential roles in India’s 2nd T20 World Cup victory, ending an 11-year dry spell for ICC titles. Rohit Sharma ended as the tournament’s second maximum run-scorer with 257 runs, together with a high score of 92 in opposition to Australia.

Kohli, no matter a tough tournament, added an essential innings within the final match against South Africa, contributing 76 runs off 58 balls.

Kohli’s innings motivated their team to a score of 176, leading to a seven-run win for India in the final on June 29. The celebrity duo also declared their retirement from T20I cricket after the match.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya displayed strong feelings after the win, given India’s records of heartbreaks in preceding tournaments. This victory showed Rohit’s first ICC trophy as captain. Additionally, Rahul Dravid stepped down from his position as instruct following the event.

Team India reached in New Delhi from Barbados in the morning

While the final of the match happened on June 29, the Indian team stayed in Barbados for an additional 3 days because of transportation disruptions caused by a hurricane on the island. However, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah arranged a special flight for the Indian players to go back home on July 3.

Upon arriving in Delhi from Barbados early Thursday morning, they encountered with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had already sent his wishes to the team right after their win in Barbados.

At the same time, key players  had been relaxed for the upcoming five- match T20 series in opposition to Zimbabwe, with possibilities given to more youthful players.
