Senior Team India batter Virat Kohli delivered a funny dance to celebrate Travis Head‘s dismissal on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday, December 26. Head was dismissed for a duck off just seven balls by Jasprit Bumrah.
Batting first after winning the toss, Australia scored 311/6 in 86 overs on Day 1. Debutant Sam Konstas (19) made 60 off 65 balls, while Usman Khawaja (57), Marnus Labuschagne (72), and Steven Smith (68*) all scored fifties.
Bumrah led India’s strong comeback after Australia’s solid start. He dismissed Khawaja before removing the dangerous Head for a duck. The Aussie left-hander missed a delivery from Bumrah, bowled around the wicket, and the ball hit his off stump due to a poor judgment.
As the Indian players came together to celebrate the key wicket of Head, Kohli was spotted performing a funny dance. He spread his arms wide and began moving them in an amusing way. You can watch the video here:

After dismissing Head, Bumrah removed Marsh for four, while Akash Deep dismissed Carey (31) with an edge behind.
A rare setback for Travis Head against India
As the Boxing Day Test approached, one of India’s main concerns was how to counter Travis Head’s threat. After being dismissed for 11 in the first innings of the opening Test in Perth, he responded with a gritty 89 in the second innings. The southpaw scored 140 in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide and followed it up with 152 and 17 in the third Test in Brisbane.
Head’s overall Test record against India stands at 1,124 runs in 24 innings, averaging 48.86, with three centuries and four fifties. His highest score of 163 came in the 2023 World Test Championship final at The Oval, where Australia won by 209 runs.
