Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who had very poor returns in the tour of New Zealand, lost his cool during the post-match press conference and slammed a Kiwi journalist, who questioned his behaviour. Meanwhile, Indian batters once again faltered to back up their batsmen as they went down by seven wickets in the second Test in Christchurch.
New Zealand completely outplayed India both technically and mentally. They needed a lot to do to bounce back after the whitewash in the three-match ODIs but New Zealand gave not an inch to the visitors. But the Kiwi bowlers continuously posed difficult questions which had no answers from the Indian batsmen.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee were right on the money to put curtains to India for 124; thus setting up a target of 132 runs. While India was expected to do a lot better with the ball but Tom Latham and Tom Blundell defied all the venoms that the wicket has to offer and added 103 runs for the first wicket to set up the victory and had India a 2-0 clean sweep for the first time in a long time.
Meanwhile, there was a brief period in the morning session of day two when Jasprit Bumaha and Mohammed Shami troubled the New Zealand batters. Virat Kohli, who keeps his emotions on his sleeves, was in his original self and looked animated and was also seen hurling abuses at the Kiwi crowds.

When the India skipper appeared for the post-match press conference, a journalist picked up the issue and questioned Virat Kohli’s behaviour. Kohli immediately lost his cool and slammed the media person for quoting half side of the story.
Journalist: Virat, what’s your reaction to your behaviour on the field, swearing at Williamson when he got out, swearing at the crowd. As an Indian captain, don’t you think you should set a better example on the field?
Virat Kohli: What do you think?
Journalist: I asked you the question?
Virat Kohli: I am asking you the answer.
Journalist: You need to set better examples
Virat Kohli: You need to find out exactly what happened and come up with better questions. You can’t come here with half questions or half details of what happened. And also, if you want to create controversy, this is not the right place. I had spoken to the match referee. He had no issues with what happened. Thank You.
