Indian skipper Virat Kohli had many expressions throughout the England innings on the first day of the third Test.  England were bowled out for 112 with the Indian spinners running riot over the English batsmen. Axar Patel took six wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin shared nine wickets amongst themselves as Ishant Sharma took one playing his 100th Test for India. Meanwhile, Kohli was over the moon after Ashwin dismissed Root for 17. His wicket also ended a 47-run stand with Zak Crawley and started the batting collapse for the visitors.

As soon as the onfield umpire ruled Root out as he was found plumb from a delivery from Ashwin, the Indian skipper started celebrating. His antics were very close to how Brett Lee celebrated his wickets during his playing days.

England lost their last eight wickets for 34 runs as Axar and Ashwin made life difficult for the English batsmen. Some balls turned and bounced while some came in with the angle to keep the English batters perplexed.

Indian spinners, who dominated the proceedings in the second Test in Chennai to set up a 317-run win for India, continued their brilliant run in the pink-ball Test. Unlike many had expected, there was little or no assistance for the pacers as India went with only two fast bowlers and three spinners in the game.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli also admitted in the press conference that the pink-ball moves a lot under lights also highlighting the fact that they have the bowlers to make the best use of the conditions as well.

Meanwhile, India needs to win one and draw one from the remaining two Test matches to book a place in the World Test Championship final.

The Motera cricket ground was been renamed Narendra Modi Stadium. Ahead of the match between India and England, the renovated stadium was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind. The breath-taking Narendra Modi Stadium now holds a capacity of 1.32 lakh spectators and is touted as the biggest stadium in the world.
