[WATCH]- Washington Sundar Dismisses KL Rahul In The IND A Vs IND B 2024 Duleep Trophy Match

On Day 3 of their 2024 Duleep Trophy match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India B off-spinner Washington Sundar dismissed India A batter KL Rahul on Saturday, September 7.

The dismissal occurred on the very first delivery of the 49th over. Washington bowled an off-stump tossed-up ball. KL Rahul tried for a paddle sweep but it dipped sharply to turn, thus, beating the bat and hitting the leg stump. The 32-year-old managed only 37 runs off 111 balls including four boundaries.

In the morning session, India A lost five wickets going from 134/2 to 201/7. Riyan Parag scored 30 while Dhruv Jurel had a disappointing performance with only two runs off 16 balls. Shivam Dube contributed 20 runs from 42 balls. As at now, India A remain at 202/7 after 59 overs with Tanush Kotian (16*) and Akash Deep (0*) still batting.

For India B, Musheer Khan was exceptional with bat by scoring a commanding century. The 19-year-old scored a total of 181 runs off 373 balls which included 16 boundaries and also five sixes. Together with Navdeep Saini who made 56 runs they shared a vital partnership of 205 runs for the eighth wicket that helped India B get an aggregate score of 321 runs.

KL Rahul was omitted from the squad in the most recent ODI against Sri Lanka

KL Rahul was left out of the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024; he returned to the Indian side during the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka after making an appearance in one Test match against England earlier before going down due to injury.

Rahul had an unproductive series, scoring just 31 and 0 in the first two matches. Consequently, he was dropped from the third ODI while Rishabh Pant came for him. However, even Pant could not do much as he could only score six runs while India lost the series by 0-2 with one game ending in a tie.
