Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar appeared to ignore Harry Brook’s offer of a handshake following Ravindra Jadeja’s century on Day 5 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Manchester. Sundar, who was unbeaten on 92 at the time, chose to celebrate Jadeja’s hundred rather than acknowledge the gesture, forcing England to wait a bit longer before the match concluded.
Jadeja and Sundar came together after India lost four wickets, with England still in with a chance of a result. The hosts needed just a couple of breakthroughs to get into the tail and had two full sessions to force a win. However, the Indian duo dug in with determination, shutting the door on England’s hopes.
As the game drifted toward a draw in the final session, England captain Ben Stokes proposed ending the contest early to ease the burden on his bowlers. But with both Indian batters closing in on centuries, they opted to continue batting, much to England’s frustration. Jadeja brought up his second overseas Test hundred off Harry Brook and turned to celebrate with the dressing room.
Sundar joined him, overlooking Brook’s handshake as the duo focused on the milestone. You can watch the video here:

“Just Waiting for Dressing Room’s Call”– Sundar on 4th Test Finish
Washington Sundar shared his emotions on reaching his maiden Test century and reflected on the moments leading up to the conclusion of the match.
“Unreal. Honestly, it’s very special. It goes back to the kid who started playing cricket and I genuinely want to dedicate this to my whole family. They have always been extremely supportive of me playing cricket,” the all-rounder told Sky Sports after the fourth Test.
“We were just waiting for the call to come from the dressing room. We just wanted to bat. The fact that we had to focus a lot helped us to not really think about too many other things,” he added.
