West Indies pacer Oshane Thomas had a forgettable game in the BPL 2024-25 on December 31. Representing Khulna Tigers, he gave away 15 runs off a single ball in their opening match against Chittagong Kings in Dhaka.

The Tigers posted an imposing total of 203 runs after being put in to bat first. However, Oshane Thomas had a rough start while bowling the opening over of the run chase. He began by dismissing Naseem Islam with a catch at mid-off, only for it to be overturned as a no-ball.

Thomas bowled a dot on the resulting free hit but then conceded another no-ball, which was dispatched for a six. His struggles continued with two consecutive wides and yet another no-ball that raced to the boundary for four, ultimately leaking 15 runs off a single ball.

Khulna Tigers defeated Chittagong Kings in the third match of the BPL 2024-25

Khulna Tigers opener William Bosisto delivered a standout performance in their opening match of the BPL 2024-25 against Chittagong Kings, scoring an unbeaten 75 off 50 balls to anchor the innings. Wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon provided a blazing finish with a quick-fire 59* off just 22 balls, propelling Khulna to a commanding total of 203/4 in their 20 overs.

Despite Oshane Thomas’ costly start with the ball, the Khulna-based side secured a comfortable 37-run victory in the end. For Chittagong, Shamim Hossain put up a valiant fight, smashing 78 runs off 38 balls. However, he received little support from the rest of the batting lineup, which faltered under pressure.

Khulna’s bowlers shone, with Abu Hider Rony claiming four crucial wickets, while Pakistani left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz impressed with tidy figures of 3-0-13-2, ensuring a strong defence of the total.
