Will Jacks of England took one of the most stunning one-handed catches in T20 cricket and made it look so easy. The 24-year-old went viral on social media after casually plucking the ball against the Johannesburg Super Kings in SA20 action at the Wanderers on Tuesday.

Gerald Coetzee was dismissed in the 20th over after smearing a low full-toss from Eathan Bosch to deep mid-wicket. Jacks, who had come running, thrust his right hand forward and plucked the ball from the air near the fence. Before celebrating with his teammates, the Surrey all-rounder made sure not to touch the boundary rope.

Will Jacks takes a stunner:

The Capitals chose to bat first, and the Super Kings got off to a slow start before Leus du Plooy ran riot on the opposition, reaching fifty in 35 deliveries. As Super Kings posted 168-6, the left-handed batter remained unbeaten on 75 off 40 balls, laced with seven fours and five towering sixes, including taking Wayne Parnell for 21 in the 19th over. With figures of 3-0-12-3, Bosch was the Capitals’ best bowler.

Chasing a difficult 169, the Capitals got off to a good start before Jacks was out for 16 off 13 balls after Alzarri Joseph sent his off-stump cartwheeling. The remaining batters received starts but did not record a significant score. Aaron Phangiso, an off-spinner, led the way with four wickets, while Joseph and Romario Shepherd also contributed.

It was also the Capitals’ first loss of the tournament, as they currently sit in third place, with the Super Kings in sixth.

Will Jacks made his international debut in a seven-game T20I series against Pakistan in September 2022, and he played his first Test against the same opponents in December.

He also received INR 3.2 crores from the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2023 mini-auction held in Kochi that month. He showed off his bat against the SunRisers Eastern Cape, smashing a 46-ball 92 to propel his team to 216-6 and a 37-run win.
