[WATCH]: “Yahi Tak Lena” – Virat Kohli Urges Reporters Not To Take His Son Akaay’s Picture At The Airport

Team India stalwart Virat Kohli asked reporters not to photograph his son Akaay at the Mumbai Airport before departing for the USA. He will join the Indian contingent there to begin preparations for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.

Kohli has been in excellent form leading up to the tournament, winning the Orange Cap in IPL 2024 by amassing 741 runs in 15 games at an average of 61.75, with five half-centuries and a century. Fans are hopeful for similar performances from the star cricketer in the World Cup.

Virat Kohli was seen at the Mumbai Airport on Friday before departing for the United States. When a few reporters attempted to take pictures, Kohli asked them not to photograph his infant son, Akaay, and thanked them as he entered the airport.

“We should view it as our asset and draw inspiration and energy from it”- Virat Kohli on fan expectations

In a recent interview with Star Sports, Virat Kohli discussed the significant expectations placed on the Indian cricket team by fans. He expressed his view that excessive attention to these expectations could turn them into a weakness. Instead, he suggested that the team should aim to transform them into a source of motivation and energy.

Kohli stated: “I won’t say it’s not realistic to expect that people don’t have hope or expectations from us. Cricket is looked at differently in our country; it’s our strength as well. It will become weakness if we pay excessive attention to it. I think we should look at it as our strength and take motivation and energy from it, that we have so many fans behind us who want us to do well.”

The T20 World Cup will be hosted by the USA and West Indies from June 2 to 29. India’s journey in the tournament will kick off on June 5 with a match against Ireland in New York.
