India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed cheaply in the second innings against South Africa on Day 4 of the second Test at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, November 25. The left-hander managed only 13 runs as India lost their first wicket at 17. The wicket fell in the seventh over of the chase when Marco Jansen bowled a short-of-a-length delivery outside off.
Jaiswal attempted a cut shot but edged the ball to wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne, who held a straightforward catch. Jaiswal appeared disappointed as he made his way back to the pavilion. You can watch the video here:

Yashasvi Jaiswal struggled to meet expectations in the Test series, apart from his 58 in the first innings. His other scores were 12, 0 (in the first Test), and 13 (in today’s innings).
South Africa posts 549-run target; India lose openers Jaiswal and Rahul early in 2nd Test
A dominant bowling effort, followed by a solid batting display, enabled South Africa to set a massive target of 549 runs against India in the second Test. The visitors declared their second innings at 260/5, securing a 548-run lead. Tristan Stubbs was the top scorer with 94 off 180 balls, supported by Tony de Zorzi’s 49.
Contributions also came from Wiaan Mulder (35*), Ryan Rickelton (35), and Aiden Markram (29). Ravindra Jadeja starred with the ball for India, taking 4/62. In pursuit of 549, India were 22/2 at the time of writing, with Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav at the crease.
South Africa had earlier posted 489 in their first innings, thanks to centuries from Senuran Muthusamy (109) and Marco Jansen (93). Kuldeep Yadav was India’s standout bowler in the first innings, claiming four wickets, while India were dismissed for 201.
Marco Jansen claimed six wickets, with Simon Harmer adding three. Temba Bavuma’s side leads the series 1-0 after their 30-run win in Kolkata and now chases their first Test series victory in India in 25 years. India are close to a second home Test whitewash under Gautam Gambhir after last year’s 0-3 loss to New Zealand.
