Sri Lanka and Pakistan are facing each other in the first test match of the two-match Test series at Galle International stadium. It’s a crucial series for both teams considering the fact that it’s a part of the World Test Championship 2023. Both teams would like to grab the 24 points and increase their chances of making it to the WTC Final.

Sri Lanka is currently in a dominating position in the test match. Sri Lanka already has a lead of 333 runs with one wicket remaining in their second innings. However, a magical ball of Yasir Shah to Kusal Mendis caught the attention of cricket fans. It is the comeback match of Yasir Shah in the Pakistan team.

On the first ball of the 56th over, Shah bowled a ball that pitched outside the leg stump and spun sharply which squared off Kusal Mendis and hit his pads and then stumps. This ball ended a great knock of 76 runs by Kusal Mendis.

This magical ball of Yasir Shah reminded cricket fans of the famous “Ball of the century” bowled by Shane Warne to Mike Gatting during Ashes 1990. The memory of this ball is still alive in the minds of cricket fans. Yasir Shah too is a big admirer of the great Shane Warne.


Dinesh Chandimal guides Sri Lanka to 300+ lead

Dinesh Chandimal has been in ominous form with the bat in recent times. He is currently playing on a score of 86 runs and has guided the hosts to a good position in this Test match.

Chandimal has also hit a double century against Australia in the last Test series. With the help of this innings of Chandimal, Sri Lanka has secured a big lead of 333 runs. 

Babar Azam played a lone warrior knock of 119 runs in the first innings. Shoaib Akhtar was in awe of this great knock of Babar. Akhtar said, “Babar’s 100 yesterday was unique & in exceptional circumstances. Batting with tail for so long being a captain in tough Sri Lankan conditions is no small feat. What a talent he is.”
