[Watch] “Yeh Toh 6 Degree Lag Raha Hai” – Team India Players Brave Cold Weather In Mohali

Team India players braved the cold wave and fog during their training session in Mohali ahead of the T20I series against Afghanistan. The first T20I is set to take place on Thursday, January 11 at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

The Indian players hit the ground running on the eve of the first T20I. However, they had to brave the cold weather at the Stadium, which kept them shivering throughout the practice session. The temperature in Mohali is around 13 degrees Celsius. However, some players felt it was lower than that.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on social media from India’s training session. The likes of Axar Patel, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Shivam Dube, and Rahul Dravid spoke about the cold weather conditions. Punjab cricketers Arshdeep Singh and Shubman Gill bantered about not feeling cold, while Avesh Khan felt there was no sky only fog.

The BCCI wrote while sharing the video, “Jacket ON Warmers ON Gloves ON #TeamIndia has a funny take on their “chilling” training session in Mohali. #INDvAFG | @IDFCFIRSTBank”

In cold, I am more scared of fielding than bowling: Ravi Bishnoi

Earlier in a conversation with Pragyan Ojha for Sports18, Ravi Bishnoi joked that he worries about fielding in cold conditions rather than bowling. He expressed that it will be tough to field in Mohali given the low level of floodlights. Ravi Bishnoi said,
“In the cold, I am more scared of fielding than bowling (gripping the ball) in these conditions. If you drop one, it’s done. It’s a bit tough fielding here because of the low level of the floodlights. You have to keep this in mind and before the match, you need to train.”
India and Afghanistan teams will head to Indore for the second T20I that is set to take place on Sunday, January 14. Meanwhile, Bengaluru will host the final T20I on Wednesday, January 17 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
