On Day 2 (Tuesday, September 10) of the match between Northamptonshire and Derbyshire in County Championship Division Two, Yuzvendra Chahal bowled an amazing delivery to Wayne Madsen leading to a sensational dismissal. This test match is taking place at Northampton.

This dismissals came in 56th over of Derbyshire’s first innings. Chahal used his leg-spinner to trick Madsen who could not know where the ball was going. The off-stump crashed with a shot that was meant for defense but it went past the outside edge, astonishing Chahal and his colleagues.

Madsen scored 47 runs during 61 balls with six boundaries but he was unable to make it big this time around. You can watch the video here:

Notably, Chahal has been axed from both T20Is and ODIs. In June, he was removed from India’s 2024 T20 World Cup squad before proceeding to Sri Lanka although he was part of the winning team. He has also remained the highest wicket-taker in T20Is for India with 96 scalps recorded over 80 games. In 72 ODIs, the leg-spinner has claimed a total of 121 wickets as well.

Yuzvendra Chahal weaves a spell for Derbyshire against Northampton in a County Championship Division Two match

The County Championship match on day two was dominated by Northampton thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal and Rob Keogh’s clinical bowling. Both of them have taken three wickets each.

Batting first, Northamptonshire made 219 runs in their first innings. Saif Zaib shined with the bat hitting 90 runs from 144 balls with two sixes and ten boundaries. Justin Broad also contributed taking 45 off 64 balls while Derbyshire got two wickets each from Zak Chapell, Marting Anderson, and Jack Morley.
