Zimbabwe men’s cricket team have sealed their spot for the T20 World Cup 2022 which is going to be held in the months of October and November this year. The multi-nation tournament will be hosted by Australia. Zimbabwe didn’t make it to the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in UAE. But this year, they didn’t lose the chance of securing their place for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
Zimbabwe defeated Papua New Guinea by 27 runs in the Qualifier match of the T20 World Cup at Queen Sports Club. Now Zimbabwe and Netherlands will face off against each other in the final of the T20 World Cup Qualifier. It would help in determining the final groups for the opening round of T20 WC 2022.
Zimbabwe players were extremely happy after securing a place in the T20 World Cup. They celebrated the win in style in the dressing room. Several Zimbabwe cricketers were seen tapping the bat on the floor of the dressing room and singing their team slogan. The video of the Zimbabwe players’ celebration has gone viral on social media.

It’s a big occasion for the sport in the country as they managed to reach the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Zimbabwe players never had an easy path in their cricketing career. They faced several struggles due to financial problems. However, they managed to keep putting up a fight.
Zimbabwe defeat PNG by 27 runs for a T20 World Cup berth
In the qualifier match against Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe put up a score of 199 runs after batting first. Wessly Madhevere played a brilliant knock of 42 runs to take his side to a good total. Craig Ervine also made a good contribution of 38 runs in 30 balls. Charles Amini was the best bowler for PNG.
In response, PNG managed to score just 172 runs and fell short by 27 runs. Tony Ura played a lone warrior knock of 66 runs. Blessing Muzarabani was the most impactful bowler while defending the target. Blessing picked up two crucial wickets and gave away just 24 runs in his four overs.
