A run-fest was expected at the Sharjah Cricket stadium today in IPL 2020. As Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals did not disappoint. The Rajasthan Royals, in the end, defied all probabilities and chased down a humongous total of 224 with 3 balls to spare.
This now happens to be the highest successful chase in IPL history. Sanju Samson continued batting like an absolute genius and always kept RR in the chase.
But it was Rahul Tewatia who produced a freakish knock after struggling in his first 20 balls. It was the over of Sheldon Cottrell were Tewatia got his mojo back and hit him for 5 sixes in an over. Tewatia, in the end, scored 53 off 31 as he turned the game on its head.
Earlier in the match, the oping duo of Mayank Aggarwal and KL Rahul produced batting of the highest order. They continued their exquisite form and set the tone for the rest of the match.
Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal scored his maiden IPL ton which also happens to be the second-fastest hundred by an Indian in IPL history. In the end, his century went in vain as RR on the back of Samson and Tewatia chased down an impossible target.

Here’s what the winning captain Steve Smith had to say after an incredible win against KXIP
Smith said, “That was some chase! Tewatia, that was some sort of display against Cottrell. We got an idea about the conditions here in the last game. It’s a small ground, we always thought if we have wickets in the shed we always have a chance. Samson is hitting sixes at will at the moment”.
“We saw in the nets that he was hitting the ball like he did in that over to Cottrell. Credit to him. Three sixes off Cottrell would have got us back in that game, that’s great self-belief. Looked like we could be chasing over 250 at one point, credit to the bowlers for pulling things back”, Smith said after the win against KXIP in post match presentation.
